Hi, It’s been very interesting reading your site today. I’d love some more information on how to eliminate my short temper/frustration/outbursts, disorganisation, and general positive tips (to be a happier person), for both myself and my children. Look forward to a reply! Thank you.

Hi Karen! Thanks for the interest in the Handwriting Maven’s site… I work hard to make it clear and descriptive on how it can help people with various issues. To the point of your concerns: gather up recent samples of your cursive handwriting, and if you have printed samples they might also help support your efforts here. Try to find at least a total of 100 lines of writing. Also get a separate clean sheet of paper ready for notes, since overmarks often obscure certain strokes, so better to put notes on a clean separate sheet. Ready?

Let’s address the anger portion of your comment. [A note here, you mentioned anger and frustration. Anger rears its head when frustration levels rise. In my specialty of Handwriting Analysis--changing your handwriting to change your life-- you will find that improving one stroke can often improve other areas of your life.] Now let’s get going! You have some detective work to do!

    1) On your separate page, write ELIMNATING ANGER at the top of the page.

Let’s start on getting clues to what you need to look at. BE SURE to list each item from #2 below on your page in column 1, then answer each one in col. 2 as you look for the characteristics in your writing [best to copy the exact strokes you see in your samples into column 2, with date of execution]. Remember that your handwriting changes, but basic core traits will show up through random weeks, months, and even years. People who go back and look through writings from years past can sometimes see a timeframe when a trait cropped up. You might also see this after you answer the points in #2.

Example of how to set up your page:
    In Col. 1 write
    a) tall or short t stem (etc)

    In Col 2, write
    [tall example-8/2009]; [tall example-1999]; [short example-1985]

    2) Look at every LOWERCASE t in all your writing. Do you notice if there is something the majority of your t’s have in common? Before I tell you how to interpret what you see, you can write me back your answer on this first point. To help you discern what to look for in a common characteristic of those t’s, here are some things to look at: for example,
    a) tall or short t stem [vertical portion],
    b) long or short t bar [horizontal],
    c) how high t bar is on t stem [bottom third, middle third, top third, above t stem],
    d) if t bar is only on one side of the t stem [which side] or
    e) if it seen on both sides of the stem [is the t bar equally split or "lopsided" to one side,
    f) do you make the t bar stroke from left to right or from right to left, and
    g) depending on the answer to that point, is the beginning of the bar heavier or lighter or same weight as the end [example, blunt versus fading out]?

Whew. You can see how Handwriting Analysis is not something a piece of software can create, just by this amount of detail that must be taken into account for the issues you are interested in exploring.
But DON’T get discouraged! You can do this and I’m here to help! Once you do your detective work on the above, and you share with me what you see, I can show you where your solutions lie, and what you can do to make them real. From there, it takes commitment and practicing the improved strokes every day in a particular way. More on that later.

    —————–
I can sense the level of frustration in your comments and I know I can help you help yourself. I have no magic wand, but I know I can share with you HOW to reduce traits you do NOT want hindering you in your life, so you can breathe a sigh of relief. I can show you, but I cannot make the changes in your writing for you. It’s up to you to follow through with the technique I will share with you.

After you get these points itemized, comment back with what you find, and we’ll get started.
